Demand response

The proxy demand resource (PDR) product enables aggregators to offer demand response resources directly into the wholesale energy and ancillary services market.

Process and requirements


To become a demand response provider, you must:

  1. Complete the Proxy Demand Resource Agreement information request sheet and enter into a Proxy Demand Response Agreement.

  2. Apply for a proxy demand resource ID using the demand response system.

  3. Have agreements with load-serving entities that serve the end-use loads that the demand response provider will be aggregating. There are no requirements for load-serving entities and end-user customers to enter into agreements with the ISO.

  4. Be a Scheduling Coordinator or use an ISO-certified Scheduling Coordinator.
