Tours of the California ISO Control Center can be arranged for visitor groups on weekdays between the hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Grid reliability is a constant, 24/7 job and the ISO Control Center is where it happens. This 17,000 square foot room houses a round-the-clock staff of 12 operators who utilize the latest desk-top technology, large LCD displays, and a mosaic map board of the control area to track the movement of electrons in, out and throughout the state. The California ISO Speakers' Bureau offers ISO representation and/or presentations at a variety of public meetings throughout the state and region. Members of the Bureau enjoy talking to groups about the energy industry and the ISO in particular.
