Elliot Mainzer has been named the new president and Chief Executive Officer of the California ISO, following the pending retirement of Steve Berberich. Mainzer is currently the administrator of the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), based in Portland, OR. The leadership transition is planned to occur on Sept. 30, 2020.
During the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, the ISO is following a robust business continuity plan designed to maintain reliable operation of the power grid and protect staff and stakeholders. The ISO also remains committed to its ideals of transparency and its role as a technical resource.
